AFP Conference Volunteer Information

We Need Volunteers!

AFP welcomes volunteers who wish to help make the conference a great experience for all participants. Volunteers will receive a $40 AFP IHQ gift certificate for completing their assignment. Gift certificates may be used toward any future AFP IHQ professional development program within one year from the conference and are nonrefundable. Please note that all volunteers must be fully registered for the conference.

Volunteer Opportunities and Duties

  • Guides to help blind or limited mobility attendees navigate the conference site and generally make them feel welcome. Minimum 4-hour commitment.

  • Education session hosts. Help welcome attendees to the session. Introduce the speaker(s). Record the number of attendees at the beginning and middle of the session. Encourage attendees to fill out the session evaluation. Minimum 2-session commitment.

  • Hallway ambassadors. Help make conference guests feel welcome by greeting them in the registration area and hallways throughout the conference site. Help them find their way as needed. Minimum 4-hour commitment.

When completing your conference registration, please indicate you would like to volunteer.

You will receive an e-mail notification closer to the conference dates with further information about choosing and training for your volunteer assignment, checking in on-site at the conference, and specific requirements for completing your assignment and receiving your gift certificate.

Please remember that you must be fully registered for the conference and be willing to provide at least the minimum level of commitment as noted.
